SoftEther is fully open source. Although a lot bigger than openvpn, it does have some nifty features such as running a vpn over icmp (yes, the mind boggles, but it may help you in some corner case). It's biggest claim, which i havent tested, is that its SE protocol is much faster than OpenVPN - they do have a detailed slide presentation on various tests, but dunno how accurate it is.
